Over the past 20 years I've spent a great deal of time exploring the "Art of Human Potential" or the lack there of. You know the simple question of why some people succeed in life while others fail...miserably.
One interesting idea I came across was that it all came down to what a person read ,and there was some truth to that. Imagine someone who only read romance novels, grocery store tabloids, and gossip columns. Now compare that to someone who reads so-called "self-help" books, inspirational how-to's, and anything that actually makes one more knowledgeable when they are done reading it.
I'm not saying you'll find a "better" person, but you will find one more adept at enjoying life. To take that one step further I've noticed that beyond what you read, it's what you believe that really has an astounding affect on your life.
I used to refer to it as "The Immigrant Mentality" because I wondered why it was so many people would come to America from third-world countries and do so well? Was it their tradition of working together for a common cause or their lack of wanting to be "top dog" in their particular group ? To some degree, yes. But what I learned was, it really boiled down to the fact they had been told from birth, " If you can just get to America ...you can achieve anything."
You see, they were not told " You can fail." that thought was never even put in their minds. They had a plan, they were told it would work, and they did it. Exactly like one of the greatest all-time advertising slogans ever "Just Do It."
It was then I learned of the Bumble Bee. Now we all know science can prove a lot of things, like how and why gravity works, how the human body functions, why the sun comes up every morning..ect.
They can also prove why the bumble bee can't fly. That's right, a bumble bee can not fly. Aerodynamically it's impossible. Size, weight ratio, wing span, all those things it takes to successfully be air born, a bumble bee can not do.
But yet, they fly. Every last one of them fly. How could this be?
They don't know they can't fly. It's that simple, no one ever explained to them " Sorry, you can't fly."
So they just do it. And it is this quality in humans that more times than not allow them to go far beyond any limitations they may actually have.
Thomas Edison was repeatedly told his light bulb wouldn't work
Colonial Sanders was rejected over 800 times on his restaurant idea
There was even a guy that told the Beatles they weren't very good
Michael Jordan's high school basketball couch told him "You can't play basketball son."
and he can fly.
My point: When faced with something you want to do, or you have to do, or something you were born to do ......be a Bumble Bee.

Blessing to you! And I agree, The Bumble Bee fly's because God said it could. Reminds me of the Scripture that says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Blessings to you, TeresaThank you Teresa, I'm simply overwhelmed at the many positive comments my first few articles have gotten from you and all the others. To have it featured was a tremendous honor. I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Michael
oops, sorry Michael, I forgot to give you the well deserved stars!
Bumble bee's wings work like helicopters, not like a plane. It's just a myth that science has anything to do with it.
